IndiGo will launch daily nonstop Mumbai-Hanoi flights from 25 October 2026, adding a third Vietnam gateway from India with IndiGoStretch and morning arrivals in Hanoi.

IndiGo will start daily nonstop flights between Mumbai and Hanoi from 25 October 2026, opening a new nonstop link from western India to northern Vietnam. The service adds to IndiGo's existing Delhi and Kolkata connections to Vietnam and will offer IndiGoStretch business-class with bookings already open on IndiGo's channels.
The schedule is timed for tourism and business: a morning arrival in Hanoi (HAN) and an evening departure back to Mumbai (BOM), giving travellers a full day on arrival and an overnight-free return. IndiGo said the new Mumbai-Hanoi flight expands its Vietnam network and strengthens Mumbai as a hub for Southeast Asia. Indian travellers can use Vietnam's 90-day e-Visa (USD 25 single, USD 50 multiple) at Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport and other approved ports.
What is the IndiGo Mumbai-Hanoi schedule?
IndiGo lists the new service as daily from 25 October 2026, the start of the northern winter schedule. The airline describes it as a morning arrival in Hanoi and an evening return to Mumbai, matching its pattern on other Vietnam routes. Flight time is typically 4.5 to 5 hours eastbound.
The Mumbai origin matters for connectivity. Travellers from Ahmedabad, Pune, Goa and other western India cities can connect via Mumbai without backtracking to Delhi. Hanoi's Noi Bai Airport connects onward to Da Nang, Hai Phong and domestic Vietnam, plus Laos and southern China overland.

Will IndiGoStretch be available on Hanoi?
Yes. IndiGo said the Mumbai-Hanoi route will offer IndiGoStretch, its business-class product with extra legroom and curated meals, alongside standard economy. The product has been rolled out on longer domestic and select international A320neo/A321neo services and now features on new Vietnam flying.
Aircraft will be from the Airbus A320neo family, the backbone of IndiGo's fleet. IndiGo operates one of the world's largest A320neo orders and uses the type for Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore services. The Hanoi service therefore fits its existing Vietnam operation without introducing a new type.
How does this expand IndiGo's Vietnam network?
Until now IndiGo's Vietnam map centred on Delhi and Kolkata. Delhi-Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City and Kolkata-Hanoi have been the main India-Vietnam nonstops, with seasonal adjustments. Adding Mumbai gives three Indian gateways to Vietnam and balances north, east and west India access.
The move follows IndiGo's October network push. The airline is also expanding Itanagar flights from 10 October and has been adding Southeast Asia frequencies for winter 2026/27. Mumbai-Hanoi plugs a gap where travellers previously connected via Bangkok, Singapore or Delhi.
Competition is limited on the city pair. No other Indian carrier flies Mumbai-Hanoi nonstop, and Vietnam Airlines concentrates on Delhi. The IndiGo entry adds direct capacity where demand from Indian tourists has grown, especially for Hanoi's Old Quarter, Ninh Binh's Tam Coc and Ha Long Bay cruises.
What do Indian travellers need: visa and best time?
Indian ordinary passport holders need a visa for Vietnam. The 90-day e-Visa, issued to all nationalities since 15 August 2023, is the usual route. It costs USD 25 (single) or USD 50 (multiple) and is accepted at Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hai Phong, Can Tho, Phu Quoc and other airports, plus many land borders and sea ports. Apply at the official e-Visa portal and keep a printed copy.
Phu Quoc has a separate 30-day visa exemption for direct foreign arrivals, but Hanoi requires the e-Visa. Processing is normally 3 to 5 working days.
