EMITT 2027 runs from Thursday 4 to Saturday 6 February 2027 at Istanbul Expo Center (IFM) in Yeşilköy, and only the first day, 4 February, is reserved for tourism professionals. The East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition reaches its 30th edition in 2027. It is organised by ICA Events with TÜROFED, the Turkish Hoteliers Federation, and connects destinations, hotels, tour operators and travel agencies with trade buyers and holiday visitors.

If your notes still say TÜYAP, they are out of date: the 2025 edition was held at the Tüyap Fair Convention and Congress Center, and EMITT moved to IFM in 2026. Holiday visitors pay a 1,000 TL entry fee and are admitted on 5 and 6 February only.

Who exhibits and who attends EMITT?

The 29th edition, held from 5 to 7 February 2026 and the first at IFM, brought together 552 exhibitors from 28 countries and 19,849 visitors from 109 countries, 2,360 of them from abroad, according to the organiser's closing release. It also hosted 322 VIP tour operators from 63 countries. The organiser puts the business volume at €510 million, which its exhibitor page labels "expected". The 2025 edition at Tüyap recorded 656 exhibitors from 39 countries and 23,725 visitors, according to the organiser.

Exhibitors include country pavilions, holiday destinations, hotels and resorts, tour operators and travel agencies, and the organiser's product categories add medical tourism, MICE services, attractions, transport and travel technology. Azerbaijan's tourism board has exhibited with a national pavilion, and Northern Cyprus took part in 2026. For 2027, the organiser has already published interviews with exhibitors Concorde De Luxe Resort and Elite World Hotels & Resorts.

The top ten foreign visitor countries in 2026 were Egypt, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Lebanon, Greece, North Macedonia, Uzbekistan and Northern Cyprus. Visitors range from hoteliers, tour operators and travel agents to provincial tourism directorates, diplomatic missions, event organisers and health tourism providers.

How to attend EMITT 2027: registration, fees and hosted buyers

Visitors register online and pick a purpose: business (to hold professional meetings) or planning a holiday. The organiser verifies professional entries and warns that "if you select the wrong category, your registration will be invalid". Each person needs their own business email address, and the entry badge is sent by email.

Professionals without a corporate email can register at the desks on arrival by showing a business card. As of 1 November 2026 the fee appears only on the Turkish-language holiday form, which says "the entry fee for the fair is 1,000 TL" (our translation); the English version does not state it and still refers to 2026. The organiser lists no separate media or student route, although the professional form lists media as a business category.

Is it open to the public? Partly. The organiser's registration page states that 4 February is open to tourism professionals only and that holiday visitors will not be able to enter that day. Registered, paid holiday visitors are welcome on 5 and 6 February.

The VIP Hosted Tour Operator Program is for "a tour operator or travel buyer actively creating packages and seeking new suppliers". Hosted tour operators get pre-arranged B2B meetings with destinations, hotels and suppliers, more than 3,500 of them in 2026. The "Apply as hosted buyer" button opens a form on Workshop Travel Shop, an external site linked to Travel Shop Turkey, which the organiser lists as its VIP tour operator partner. No deadline is given, nor whether flights or hotel nights are covered, so ask when you apply.

Networking at EMITT: matchmaking, meetings and timing

Exhibitors connect with tour operators and buyers and schedule appointments through the Eventiqs matchmaking app. The organiser reports more than 11,750 digital matchmaking interactions and more than 3,500 meetings in 2026, and 80% satisfaction with the matchmaking. Exhibitors manage profiles, badges and technical orders in the Exhibitor Portal.

As of 1 November 2026 the organiser has published no conference or stage programme for 2027, so plan around stand visits and pre-booked meetings. Hosted tour operators arrive with schedules already set, so request slots before the show.

4 February opens at 11:00 and is the only day without holiday visitors, which suits appointments. The other days open at 10:00, and Saturday closes at 17:00.

Getting to Istanbul Expo Center and where to stay

IFM is in Yeşilköy, in Istanbul's Bakırköy district, and has its own metro station: take the Yenikapı–Atatürk Airport metro line to World Trade Center – Istanbul Expo Center station (Dünya Ticaret Merkezi – İstanbul Fuar Merkezi).

  • From Istanbul Airport: the Havaist HVIST-10 bus to Yenibosna-Kuleli, then the metro to the expo centre station.
  • From Sabiha Gökçen Airport: Havabus to Taksim, then the metro or metrobus.
  • Marmaray: change at Yenikapı to the airport metro, or leave at Yeşilyurt and take a taxi of about five minutes.
  • Metrobus: change to the airport metro at Ataköy-Şirinevler.
  • By car: the E5, the TEM motorway or the coastal road.

The organiser lists four sponsor hotels with discounted rates, booked directly, and a free shuttle between them and IFM during the show. WOW Istanbul Hotel (five-star) and WOW Airport Hotel (four-star), on Atatürk Caddesi in Yeşilköy, are listed at €120 and €100 a night for a single or double room with breakfast and taxes. Hotel Feronya in Taksim is listed from €70 and Güneş Hotel in Merter from €60, six metro stops from the fairground, says the organiser. As of 1 November 2026 the page carries no year, so confirm with the hotel that these rates apply to EMITT 2027 before booking. International visitors should also check whether they need a visa for Türkiye.

How does EMITT compare with FITUR and ITB Berlin?

EMITT shares its mixed format with FITUR in Madrid, which keeps 20 to 22 January 2027 for trade professionals, opens to the public on 23 and 24 January and closes 11 days before EMITT opens. FITUR reported more than 10,000 companies from 161 countries in 2026, and ITB Berlin (16 to 18 March 2027, trade only) 5,601 exhibitors from 166 countries, according to their organisers. EMITT is smaller, with 552 exhibitors in 2026. All three are in our travel trade show calendar.
