ITB Berlin 2027 runs from Tuesday 16 to Thursday 18 March 2027 at the Messe Berlin exhibition grounds, Messedamm 22, and it is open to trade visitors only. Organised by Messe Berlin GmbH, which bills it as "The World's Leading Travel Trade Show", it brings destinations, tour operators, hospitality, MICE and travel technology companies together for three days of meetings, with the ITB Berlin Convention running alongside.
The March slot is later than usual. The 2026 edition ran from 3 to 5 March, and Messe Berlin's 2026 final report says the "one-off change of dates takes intercultural aspects into account and enables Muslim exhibitors and visitors to celebrate Eid al-Fitr at the end of Ramadan and then participate in ITB Berlin." The Maldives is the official host country, with its stand in Hall 5.2.
Who exhibits at ITB Berlin and who attends?
The 2026 edition, the show's 60th anniversary, drew 5,601 exhibitors from 166 countries and territories and nearly 97,000 attendees over its three trade-visitor days, according to Messe Berlin's final report. The organiser puts deals and purchasing decisions concluded at the show at €47 billion and says 96% of visitors emphasised the quality of their meetings and their intention to return.
The halls are laid out by destination, and 20 market segments, from Adventure Travel, Business Travel and MICE to Medical & Health Tourism, LGBTQ+ Travel & Diversity, Travel Technology and a Start-Up Village, run their own networking events and stage content.
The ITB Buyers Circle shows the kind of buyer the show courts: Messe Berlin says 74% of its members are direct decision-makers, 69% work for tour operators and 39% manage budgets above €10 million.
How to attend ITB Berlin 2027
Tickets are sold only online through the Messe Berlin ticket shop, with no counters on site, and are non-refundable. Early-bird prices run until 14 January 2027:
- ITB Permanent Trade Visitor Pass: €75 early bird, then €85. It covers all three days, the ITB Berlin Convention, guided tours and a profile in the ITB Navigator matchmaking platform.
- ITB Orange Pass: €299 early bird, then €399, limited to 300 holders. It adds fast-track entry from 9:00, a lounge in Hall 7.2b, free cloakroom, one free meeting-table slot, invitation-only events and a Berlin WelcomeCard with four days of public transport.
Opening hours are 10:00 to 18:00 daily. Exhibitors can send customers admission vouchers, so ask your partners before you buy. Press accreditation opens in December 2026. Delegates needing a visa can apply up to three months before arrival; Messe Berlin says an invitation letter from the organiser is usually not needed.
Is it open to the public? No. Messe Berlin describes ITB Berlin as a B2B show with three trade-visitor days, and only trade-visitor tickets are sold. There is no consumer weekend.
The ITB Buyers Circle hosted-buyer programme
The ITB Buyers Circle, 15 years old in 2027, is ITB's buyer programme. Membership is free but reviewed individually: only 1,300 buyers are admitted each year, and applicants need an active purchasing role with demonstrable budget or contract responsibility. It targets senior buyers, contracting and purchasing managers, heads of product and MICE and corporate travel decision-makers. Benefits are on-site: free admission to the show and Convention, early access, a members' lounge, meeting areas and networking events. Flights and hotels are not on the published list. Applications for 2027 were open on 25 October 2026, with no closing date published.
Networking: ITB Navigator, meeting tables and the Convention
Meetings are arranged in the ITB Navigator, which every trade-visitor ticket includes. Log in with the email address used to buy your ticket, then browse exhibitors, receive matching suggestions and send appointment requests for on-site meetings before you arrive. The free ITB Berlin app carries the interactive hall plan and event programme, and works offline.
For meetings away from a stand, the ITB Business Satellites provide bookable meeting tables: standard trade-pass holders can book up to two slots a day for a fee, and Orange Pass holders get one slot free. The ITB Berlin Convention runs over the same three days; in 2026 it drew more than 24,000 visitors to 200 sessions in 17 theme tracks, and those sessions are on ITB's YouTube channel.
- Buy early: your Navigator profile, the basis of matchmaking, is tied to your ticket.
- A free shuttle runs between halls on the grounds, but there is no official hotel shuttle.
- Cloakrooms at the entrances charge €3 per item and €6 per piece of luggage, and there are no lockers.
Getting to Messe Berlin and where to stay
Berlin's BER airport is ITB's official airport partner. Messe Berlin estimates about 60 minutes from BER to the grounds by public transport, which needs an ABC-zone ticket, or about 45 minutes and €40 by taxi, depending on traffic. Parking is limited, so the organiser recommends public transport: S-Bahn lines S41, S42 and S46 to Messe Nord/ICC, or U-Bahn line U2 to Kaiserdamm or Theodor-Heuss-Platz. Deutsche Bahn's event offer gives up to 10% off long-distance rail fares within Germany for travel between 14 and 20 March 2027.
Messe Berlin names no individual hotels. Its accommodation page points visitors to its booking partner Onlinetravel and to visitBerlin's accommodation service. A hotel near the S41, S42 or U2 lines gives a direct ride to the halls.
How does ITB Berlin compare with WTM London and FITUR?
The three European fixtures differ most in timing and in who can get in:
| Show | Next dates | Venue | Public days | Last edition (each organiser's own figures; not like-for-like) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ITB Berlin | 16–18 March 2027 | Messe Berlin, Berlin | None | 2026: 5,601 exhibitors from 166 countries; nearly 97,000 attendees |
| WTM London | 3–5 November 2026 | ExCeL London | None | 2025: total attendance 46,500; 5,500 buyers; 182 countries represented |
| FITUR | 20–24 January 2027 | IFEMA MADRID, Madrid | 23–24 January 2027 | 2026: 255,000+ attendees (155,000 on professional days); 10,000+ companies from 161 countries |
Organisers count differently: FITUR's total includes its public weekend, and WTM London reports vetted buyers separately, so read the figures side by side rather than as a ranking. Messe Berlin also runs separate regional shows, including ITB Asia in Singapore, ITB China, ITB India and ITB Americas. Our travel trade shows calendar lists the full year.
