Rendez-vous Canada 2027 runs from Wednesday 28 April to Saturday 1 May 2027 at the BMO Centre in Calgary, Alberta, and there is no ticket to buy: every buyer and seller must be invited or approved before registering. Rendez-vous Canada (RVC) is the annual marketplace where Canadian tourism businesses meet the tour operators, wholesalers and receptive operators who package Canada, in pre-scheduled appointments. Destination Canada, the national tourism organisation, has been responsible for it since 1977, and the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) has managed it since 1998. The Calgary edition marks its 50th anniversary.

There are no public days. As of 1 November 2026, seller early-bird registration is open until 16 December, buyer invitations are due from December, and 2027 fees are not on the public site, so the prices below are 2026's.

Who exhibits and who attends Rendez-vous Canada?

The 2026 edition ran from 26 to 29 May at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. In its post-show newsletter the organiser thanked 1,540 delegates and reported 100 more sellers, 75 more buyers and 11,000 more appointments than at the 2025 edition in Winnipeg.

Sellers are organisations with facilities and an office in Canada selling Canadian tourism products internationally. Destination marketing organisations (DMOs) for cities and regions exhibit too, as do tourism partners such as government departments, industry associations, airport authorities and travel trade media. The floor is arranged in national, provincial and territorial sections, and buyers visit sellers at their booths.

Buyers come from Destination Canada's key markets "and beyond", in the organiser's words. Destination Canada's nine key markets are Australia, China, France, Germany, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States, and Canadian receptive operators also attend as buyers. A small number of international trade media from the nine markets are invited.

How to attend Rendez-vous Canada: buyers, sellers and fees

Buyers. Qualified international buyers are foreign tour operators and wholesalers, packagers, locally based receptive operators, destination management companies and travel agents. They must buy a total Canadian package, or its components, for resale overseas, in the US or in Canada, and buyers from Destination Canada's target markets get priority. Canadian buyers also need at least 24 tour departures or 50 touring days in each of the past three years. Nominations come from Destination Canada, TIAC, the provinces and territories, and sellers. Invitations go out from December 2026; first-time buyers use the Buyer Application Form.

Sellers. Provincial and territorial marketing organisations approve sellers; TIAC or Destination Canada can nominate national sellers trading in three or more provinces or territories. Sellers must offer export-ready product, contract at wholesale net rates, sell only Canadian product and carry at least $2 million in liability insurance. All must pass TIAC's Export READI assessment, which is free, online and takes 15 to 30 minutes. For 2027, early-bird registration runs from 21 October to 16 December 2026 for sellers who finish the assessment by 7 December, and invitations with login codes go out from November.

The 2026 prices carried 13% tax, and the seller fee covered all official events, meals and transport between official hotels and functions.

Is it open to the public? No. The organiser says the event is by invitation only and not open to the public, sells no tickets to its functions, and admits no unregistered guests or spouses.

Networking at Rendez-vous Canada: appointments and events

Meetings are booked by mutual request of buyer and seller through the MyRVC portal, and the organiser says more than 95% of "perfect matches" are typically booked. In 2026 appointments lasted 10 minutes, with a 3-minute break. The organiser's pages differ on the maximum: 78 in its March 2026 newsletter and 2026 buyer packages, 85 on its event-info and FAQ pages, and 75 (with 12-minute meetings) on its appointments page. In 2026 requests ran from 12 March to 15 April; 2027 dates were unpublished as of 1 November 2026. Buyers who schedule fewer than 40 appointments, or cancel 10% or more on site, may not be invited back.

The programme adds pre-show city tours, a "Welcome to Canada" reception on the first evening, a 90-minute seated lunch daily while the floor closes, 10-minute drop-in Spotlight Sessions from TIAC and Destination Canada, and a host-night reception on the penultimate evening. Sellers get Destination Canada's Inside Track market briefing, held in 2026 on the afternoon before appointments began. Buyers and media can join familiarisation (FAM) tours of southern Alberta, which typically last three days and end in Calgary in time for the show. Hospitality is banned during the official schedule, so hold client events before or after it.

Getting to the BMO Centre and where to stay

The BMO Centre is at Stampede Park, 1912 Flores LaDue Parade SE, Calgary T2G 2W1, south-east of downtown in the Culture + Entertainment District, next to Victoria Park/Stampede CTrain station. With construction under way on Scotia Place, the venue asks visitors to check the district's access map for road closures.

Calgary International Airport (YYC) has no light-rail line. Calgary Transit's Route 500 express bus runs between the airport and downtown via Centre Street, and Stampede Park has regular CTrain service, the venue says.

In 2026 buyers could choose packages with five hotel nights, while sellers booked their own rooms, with discounted rates at official hotels offered first come, first served. Calgary hotels had not been posted as of 1 November 2026.

How does Rendez-vous Canada compare with IPW?

The nearest equivalent is the US Travel Association's IPW, also an appointment-based marketplace where one country's suppliers meet international buyers. IPW's organiser reported nearly 5,000 attendees from more than 60 countries in 2026, against RVC's 1,540 delegates. In 2027 they run back to back: IPW opens in New Orleans on 2 May, the day after RVC closes. Both are in our travel trade show calendar.
