The biggest theme-park wave in Asia in a decade lands between 2025 and 2027, and most of it is a 4–6 hour flight from India. If you plan one park trip, go for Legoland Shanghai (public operation 5 July 2025, preview 20 June 2025) and Minion Land at Universal Studios Singapore (opened 14 February 2025) — Shanghai is now the world's largest Legoland at 318,000 sq m 1 km from Jinshan North station with variable tickets ¥319 off-peak to ¥599 peak, Singapore's Minion Land adds three Despicable Me zones inside USS with no extra gate beyond the USS ticket. Between them sit Rainforest Wild Asia and the new Singapore Oceanarium (both Mandai, both 2025) and the pipeline to Legoland Shenzhen (2027) and Beijing (2028). Every date and price below is from the park page, Wikipedia or the local press.

Which new theme parks opened in Asia for 2026?

  • Legoland Shanghai, Fengjing, Jinshan — public opening 5 July 2025 (preview 20 June 2025). 318,000 sq m, 1 km from Jinshan North high-speed station. Tickets ¥319 off-peak, ¥379 standard, up to ¥599 peak (≈ INR 3,780 / 4,490 / 7,100). Sales opened 28 May 2025. Why-go: world's largest Legoland, aimed at 2–12 year olds, with the new Miniland of Chinese landmarks — easiest with the Jinshan high-speed link.
  • Minion Land at Universal Studios Singapore, Sentosa — opened 14 February 2025. Illumination's Despicable Me zone with Minion Marketplace, Gru's Neighbourhood and Super Silly Fun Land (Buggie Boogie). Included in USS ticket: SGD 98 adult / 78 child (peak SGD 103) (≈ INR 6,200 / 4,930). Why-go: no extra gate — you get three new rides/shows inside the existing park, with Gru, Lucy and Minion meets.
  • Rainforest Wild Asia, Mandai Wildlife Reserve, Singapore — opened 12 March 2025. New 13-hectare forest adventure with canopy walk, animal trails and 9 Adventure+ activities (worth SGD 10 each). Opening special SGD 50 adult / 39 child (U.P. SGD 55), bundle with other Mandai parks SGD 118 adult. Why-go: zip and canopy walk in the morning, Night Safari after dark — one ticket, one reserve.
  • Singapore Oceanarium, Sentosa (former S.E.A. Aquarium) — reopened 24 July 2025. Rebranded oceanarium inside Resorts World Sentosa. SGD 50 adult off-peak / 55 peak; resident SGD 42/49, child 39/43, senior 39/43 (≈ off-peak INR 3,160). Why-go: larger tanks, new ocean-education wing and the same Sentosa ferry from USS.
  • Trans Studio Bali — Boomerang coaster retrack and VR zone, November 2024. Indoor park 10 minutes from Ngurah Rai. IDR 350,000 adult on Klook (≈ INR 1,796). Why-go: Bali's only all-weather park — do it on a rainy afternoon between beach clubs. See new things to do in Bali 2026.
  • Bali Safari & Marine Park — Komodo and Orangutan Islands, March 2025. New islands and raised boardwalk inside the Gianyar park. IDR 750,000 Jungle Hopper adult (≈ INR 3,848), child IDR 600,000. Why-go: see Komodos without a Komodo live-aboard.
  • EmSphere UOB Live extended programs, Bangkok — arena opened 11 February 2024. Not a ride park but the anchor show hall for theme-park-style live acts (6,000 seats). Tickets THB 2,500–6,500 per show. Why-go: pair with Bangkok's new malls if you are doing a Bangkok-plus-Singapore park hop. See new attractions in Bangkok 2026.
  • Ghibli Park — Valley of Witches full opening, Nagoya, Japan — 16 March 2024. Last and largest Ghibli valley (Howl's castle, Kiki's house) completing the 2022 park. Tickets ¥2,500 adult weekdays / ¥3,800 with O-Edo add-on (≈ INR 1,400–2,130). Balloted via Lawson. Why-go: only Studio Ghibli park on earth, book 3 months ahead.
  • Legoland Shenzhen Resort — scheduled 2027. Merlin's second mainland Legoland after Shanghai, under construction in Dapeng. Pricing TBA, expected in the ¥300–550 band as Shanghai. Why-go: Shenzhen plus Hong Kong Disneyland in one Greater Bay weekend.
  • Legoland Beijing Resort — scheduled 2028. Announced on the Legoland chain page as part of 3 planned resorts. Pricing TBA. Why-go: if your 2027–2028 window is Beijing, this is the third mainland China Legoland to plan around.

All 2025 openings are ticketed and bookable now (Legoland Shanghai from 28 May 2025, USS and Mandai daily). The two Legoland pipelines are 2027–2028 — plan Shanghai for 2026 and keep Shenzhen for the following year. Indian traveller tips: visas, flights and when to go

Visas: Singapore → Indians need e-Visa SGD 30 (2 days). China → tourist L visa ~INR 3,900 (4 days, 30-day stay). Thailand → visa-free 60 days since 25 Jul 2024. Indonesia → e-VOA IDR 500k for Bali parks. Japan → e-Visa single ~INR 1,900. Check the latest on Indonesia e-VOA and Vietnam pages.

Flights ex-India: Delhi–Shanghai 6 h 30 m non-stop, return INR 28,000–38,000 (Air India/China Eastern); Delhi–Singapore 5 h 45 m, INR 18,000–26,000 (IndiGo/Singapore Airlines); Delhi–Bali 7 h 15 m one-stop via KL, INR 22,000–32,000; Delhi–Bangkok 4 h 15 m, INR 13,000–18,000; Delhi–Nagoya via Tokyo ~10 h. Singapore is the best hub to pair USS + Rainforest Wild Asia + Oceanarium in one Sentosa–Mandai weekend.

Best months: Shanghai late March–May and September–November (15–25°C, lower queues than July heat); Singapore year-round (26–32°C) but February has only 9 rain days vs December 19; Bali May–September dry. Avoid Shanghai late July–early August peak and Singapore mid-December to early January surge.

Frequently asked questions

Is Legoland Shanghai worth it if I have done Legoland Malaysia?

Yes if your kids are under 12 and want the China Miniland plus a park 60% larger than Malaysia. Shanghai is built for 2–12 year olds with Chinese-city Lego builds, and the high-speed link from Shanghai Hongqiao is 30 minutes.

Do I pay extra for Minion Land inside USS?

No. Minion Land is three new zones inside Universal Studios Singapore and is included in the standard USS one-day ticket (SGD 98 adult). Separate pay shows inside the land are extra.

Can I do Rainforest Wild Asia and the Singapore Oceanarium in one day?

Yes, but it is a rush. Rainforest Wild Asia takes 3–4 hours (morning, coolest), Sentosa is 45 minutes by taxi+MRT, Oceanarium needs 2–3 hours. Most families split them: Mandai on day one, Sentosa on day two via the Sentosa Express.

Should I wait for Legoland Shenzhen if I am going in 2026?

No. Shenzhen is guided to 2027. Go to Shanghai in 2026 (book 28 May 2025 pricing: ¥319 off-peak), and plan Shenzhen for the following trip paired with Hong Kong Disneyland.
