Meetings Africa 2027 runs from 22 to 24 February 2027 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg. Hosted by South African Tourism, it is the continent's principal business events and MICE trade show.
A Pan-African remit
Although South African Tourism hosts it, Meetings Africa is deliberately continental. Convention bureaux, venues, DMCs and hotel groups from across Africa exhibit to buyers sourcing conferences, incentives and association meetings for African destinations.
That matters because association business is one of the more realistic routes to higher-value, less seasonal tourism for African destinations — delegates arrive in shoulder seasons, stay in city hotels and spend at business-travel rates.
Why Johannesburg
Johannesburg is Africa's largest business city and its busiest aviation hub, with OR Tambo connecting the continent to the world. Sandton, where the convention centre sits, is the financial district and holds the hotel capacity a business-events show requires.
The host city is again part of the pitch: buyers assessing African conference capability can see a working example while they are there.

Meetings Africa traditionally opens with a Business Opportunity Networking Day before the exhibition proper — a programme of education and networking aimed particularly at smaller and emerging exhibitors, including sessions supporting small businesses entering the business-events supply chain.
