What hidden costs catch Indians out in Thailand?
Four, and all are avoidable. Marine park fees (THB 200 to 400 per island visit) stack up on multi-island weeks and are cash-only at most piers. Prepaid SIM and data top-ups are cheap (tourist SIMs from THB 50) but airport kiosks upsell aggressively; buy in 7-Eleven instead. Taxi and tuk-tuk overcharging in Bangkok and Phuket routinely doubles the metered fare; the Grab app caps it. Laundry, sunscreen and mosquito spray cost two to three times Indian prices at resort shops, so pack them.
