IMEX America 2026 runs from 13 to 15 October 2026 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas. It is the largest meetings, incentives and events trade show in North America.

The North American buyer base

IMEX America's buyers are predominantly US and Canadian: corporate meeting planners, association executives, independent planners and incentive houses. For international destinations and venues, it is the most efficient single point of access to that market.

North American corporate and association meetings represent substantial, reliable volume, and association business in particular books years ahead — which is why conversations here often concern 2029 and 2030 rather than next season.

Las Vegas as host

The choice is functional. Las Vegas has more convention space and hotel rooms within walking distance than almost anywhere on earth, direct flights from across North America, and a resident meetings infrastructure that can absorb an event of this size without strain.

It also lets buyers inspect large-scale meetings capacity while attending — the host city is itself part of the product on show.

How it pairs with Frankfurt

IMEX Frankfurt in May is the European sibling. Suppliers targeting both markets do both shows; those with one market should choose by buyer location, since the audiences overlap far less than the shared brand suggests.

Practical notes

  • Mid-October in Las Vegas is pleasant — a marked improvement on the summer.
  • Mandalay Bay's convention space is large; allow real time to cross it between appointments.
  • The hosted-buyer programme is competitive and closes months ahead.
  • Book accommodation early. Las Vegas absorbs large events well, but rates move sharply during major conventions.

Smart Monday and the education track

IMEX America opens with a full day of education before the exhibition floor does, run with MPI, and it is free to attend. Sessions cover event design, contracting, risk, wellbeing and sustainability.

For international suppliers new to selling into the North American meetings market, that day is disproportionately valuable — US corporate and association buying conventions differ from European ones in contracting, liability and lead times, and learning that in a session is cheaper than learning it in a lost bid.

Association business runs on long cycles

A large international association congress is typically awarded three to seven years ahead. Conversations at IMEX America routinely concern 2030 and beyond, which changes what a useful meeting looks like: you are establishing credibility and capability, not closing business this quarter.

Destinations expecting immediate return from a single appearance usually misread the sector. Repeat presence over several years is how bids are won.
